About The Position

The quality control technician - truck detailer is responsible for cleaning the interior and exterior of new heavy-duty chassis fitted with vocational bodies, and snow and ice equipment; assisting quality control technicians in verifying compliance to finished goods standards; and supporting incoming chassis inspection process.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of different cleaning products, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all functional levels of organization required.
  • Basic computer skills required—Outlook e-mail, digital camera download, Windows Explorer file management, Spokane/ERP access.
  • Customer service skills, including written and oral communications.
  • Ability to estimate the timing of a job.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and measures when using cleaning products and equipment.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, and with minimal direct supervision.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and fosters teamwork.
  • Commits to excellence and high standards.

Responsibilities

  • Proactive team member preparing custom trucks for delivery to the customer.
  • Clean interior and exterior of recently upfitted heavy-duty chassis and equipment.
  • Use specialized cleaning equipment and materials for specific trucks and equipment.
  • Assist in the quality control inspections to ensure finished trucks meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Inspect paint, finish, and mechanical workmanship on completed vehicles per applicable QC checklist.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs as required.
  • Perform pre-delivery tasks (grease, adjust doors, adjust headlights, etc.).
  • Return vehicles to shop for required rework.
  • Perform completed vehicle certification process, apply correct certification labels.
  • Take digital photos of completed vehicles as required.
  • Maintain inventory of decals, touch-up paint, and supplies.
  • Assist with training of new TE Shop and QC employees.
  • Support incoming chassis inspection process verifying chassis condition and critical parameters, including accurate information collection and distribution.
