We are searching for Truck Operations & Maintenance Specialist to join our team as an onsite terminal and maintenance point of contact. This role is a unique hybrid of diesel maintenance and terminal logistics. This role primarily focuses on yard operations, equipment movement, and vehicle readiness, ensuring tractors, trailers, and autonomous assets are positioned safely and efficiently to support development and commercial missions. In addition to terminal operations, this role supports vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and routine maintenance activities to help maintain fleet reliability and operational readiness. This role requires a Class-A CDL for limited on-road driving (such as local equipment ferrying), while maintaining a solid customer-facing demeanor when representing the company to vendors, partners, and the public. In this role, you will Safely operate Class-8 tractors to move equipment, trailers, and autonomous assets within the terminal yards and staging areas. Coordinate yard logistics including trailer positioning, vehicle staging, and inbound/outbound equipment preparation. Conduct local equipment moves, and ferry hardware between nearby facilities when needed. Safely pilot autonomous semi-trucks for on-road and closed-course testing in support of our development and commercial operations. Inspect and prepare inbound and outbound vehicles and trailers (including third-party equipment) documenting findings and ensuring safe operating conditions and operational readiness. Identify yard flow or operational bottlenecks and recommend process improvements. Perform routine OEM maintenance and complex mechanical or electrical repairs on Class-8 autonomous tractors. Conduct pre and post-operation inspections and document vehicle conditions. Diagnose mechanical or electrical faults using diagnostic tools and manufacturer documentation. Perform designated mechanical repairs and component replacements; escalate complex or major repairs to fleet or engineering teams as appropriate. Work cross-functionally with Software and Hardware teams to perform diagnostics, execute repair plans, and perform high-level vehicle component upgrades. Support root cause investigation for vehicle faults, operational incidents, or repeated maintenance issues. Track, document and communicate maintenance activities, findings, repair work, and vehicle reliability data in company systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment aligned with company protocols. Provides feedback, creates and implements processes and suggestions to new and/or improved workshop standards, protocols, and processes. Create detailed reports regarding equipment maintenance, yard safety, and terminal occurrences for leadership. Maintain a clean, professional workspace and ensure all repairs meet strict quality and safety protocols. Interact professionally with vendors, partners, and the public as an ambassador for Aurora.
