The position will be responsible for repairs and keeps electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks running properly, following manuals, and using hand tools, power tools, and knowledge of electrical, power transmission, brake, and other automotive systems.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required.
  • 7+ years of automotive shop experience.
  • Certifications requirements / technical knowledge to include: Light/Electrical Systems, Brake Systems, A/C, Preventative Maintenance, Clutch, Injectors, Transmission, Engine, Tires, HVAC, Drive Lines, Aftertreatment Systems, Diagnostic Troubleshooting, APU Unit Service and Repair, Rear End.

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspection, maintenance and repairs on heavy duty vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, forklifts, pickups, etc.
  • Responsible for diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical trouble shooting, steering and cooling systems.
  • Installs new ignition systems, aligns front wheels, changes or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions and other parts, using hand tools.
  • Overhauls gas or diesel engines, using mechanic's hand tools, welding equipment, standard charts, and hoists.
  • Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes adjustments, using hand tools.
  • Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications.
  • May fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
  • Will be subject matter expert and provide knowledge-based guidance to lower-level mechanics.
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
  • Follow all established standard operating procedures.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management.
