About The Position
The Truck Maintenance Mechanic position is a critical role within the Maintenance Department located in Mt. Pleasant, TX. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 8 tractors, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally and in compliance with safety regulations. The mechanic will perform a variety of tasks including conducting DOT inspections, replacing clutches, brakes, and tires, and diagnosing electrical and engine problems. Effective communication with drivers is essential to address any maintenance issues that arise, and the mechanic will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance to avoid future problems. The role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing issues with PACCAR Engines and other components of the tractors, ensuring that all repairs are completed to the highest standards. In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate must demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. The ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary to meet the demands of the job. The mechanic will also need to possess adequate computer skills to manage maintenance records and perform other job-related tasks.
