TRAVEL: TBD Responsibilities The Loading Technicians are responsible for supporting the daily safe operation of a chemical plant facility to produce styrene butadiene (SB) latex dispersions for the use to external customers. The equipment operated by Loaders in this facility includes: pumps, valves, pressure vessels, instrument control systems, forklifts, hoists, scales, lab testing equipment, computers, and other associated manufacturing equipment. Technicians are tested and expected to thoroughly understand the operation and capabilities of the equipment in their area. Loading Technicians are expected to be able to disassemble and clean plant equipment, piping and pressure vessels. The operation of the Loading Area includes loading/unloading latex dispersions to and from tanks, trucks, and railcars. Handling various hazardous chemicals. Identifying and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Recognizing and eliminating safety hazards. Accept and demonstrate personal accountability for EHS performance. Demonstrate sound judgment by adhering to EHS requirements while planning and executing a job. Support and continually apply all Quality Improvement, Safety, Ecology, and Legal Compliance, policies and procedures. Loading Technicians are required to effectively work with minimal supervision. Loading Technicians are expected to operate and manage (troubleshoot) their respective area and make safe, prompt, and effective decisions. Successful internal relationships among co-workers for the production of dispersions in a continuous operation, both chain and batch facilities. Loading Technicians are expected to think and act in collaboration with others, including other departments or teams. External relationships among customers include product quality control and meeting product specifications (low frequency). Daily Responsibilities Survey loading yard each morning and report empty and loaded trailers to stakeholders Safely operate the yard tractor to spot, load/unload, and pull trailers on site Properly walk down latex loading/transfer lines to ensure proper valve and pump line up prior to starting all loads Load and unload latex railcars Routine housekeeping of area Basic pump maintenance Perform basic math and weight conversions Monitoring of tank levels (including working at heights to stick tank levels) Valve, flange, and hose removal and replacement as needed Monitor supplies inventory and order as needed Communicate well with internal and external teams
