About The Position

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Truck Loader ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The Truck Loader will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum’s Customer 1st Philosophy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. The general purpose of the Truck Loader is to load and unload outgoing and incoming materials using industrial powered vehicles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience and 3 to 6 months of related experience.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk and hear. Occasionally the employee will have to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift up 10 to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to work in high, precarious places. Occasionally the employee is exposed to outdoor weather conditions and vibrations.
  • Employee is expected to wear the required personal protective equipment when on the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Audit incoming materials and fill out proper documentation.
  • Provide constant support for all truck drivers.
  • Load out going truck with industrial powered vehicles.
  • Distribute all received goods to the designated areas.
  • Build skids per the demand for them.
  • Band packs and skids as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Federal, State, and local standards and regulations.
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding safety and standards of workplace behavior, in completing job duties and assignments
