About The Position

The Truck Hydraulics Technician is responsible for the custom fabrication of customer’s trucks. This role involves supporting daily functions including the installation, testing, and diagnosis of hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and filter assemblies. The technician will work with various hydraulic systems, including open center and closed center systems with load sense pumps and EPC valve sections. Regular communication with the Team Leader and Operations Manager is essential to assess assigned jobs and identify necessary parts and materials for the build-up process. The technician will also be expected to work cooperatively with customers and contribute to continual process improvement within the team. Additional responsibilities include parts delivery and pickup, maintaining a clean work area, and performing other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current regular driver’s license to move vehicles.
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • Overhead crane operator certification.
  • General comprehension of and experience in the truck build-up process.
  • General understanding of truck components and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to work alone with minimal or no supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written instructions, diagrams, schematics, and prints.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of computers and various software programs is desirable.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of on-board truck computer controls, including electrical multiplexing and CAN Bus systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and diagnose hydraulic components including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and filter assemblies.
  • Utilize prints and diagrams for hydraulic systems in the truck build-up process.
  • Communicate regularly with Team Leader and Operations Manager to assess assigned jobs and identify required parts and materials.
  • Work cooperatively and proactively with customers.
  • Develop continual process improvement with managers and co-workers.
  • Perform parts delivery and pickup.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform janitorial work as needed.
  • Work a 10-hour shift Monday through Friday, and a 4-hour shift two Saturdays a month.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
