Operate a tractor-trailer combination in urban, suburban, and rural areas and in all types of weather conditions. Perform all safety inspections. Safely maneuver vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or in tight loading dock areas. Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, and regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
Requirements
- Must possess a CDL Class A’s driver license
- 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- Must pass a background check and drug test
- Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
- An innate sense of direction
- Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
- High level of composure and good stress management
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Responsibilities
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
- Pick-up and safely transport goods to the intended destination
- Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck to prevent damage/injury
- Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
- Assist in mapping driving routes
- Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
- Communicate with dispatch as needed
- Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
- Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
- Track and report working hours on trip sheets
- Adhere to company rules and regulations
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
- Comply with DOT regulations
- Always make safety a priority
