Truck Driver - Night Shift
About The Position
Summary: Drives and operates dump truck and/or other designated vehicle to transport various materials and supplies. Work Hours: This position will be expected to work a schedule established by the Department Head. Typical hours will be 10:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m., Tuesday thru Saturday It is also expected this position will work other hours including nights, weekends and/or holidays as necessary or requested in order to fulfill the City's vision and/or to accomplish departmental goals. Mandatory overtime may be required during certain occasions including, but not limited to times of snow/ice removal. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, applicants should be able to perform each essential duty in an efficient, effective and safe manner. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a manual transmission. The duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Requirements
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a manual transmission.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Requires one year driving a commercial vehicle or closely related experience.
- Class A or B Commercial Driver's License required.
Nice To Haves
- Endorsements are preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Picks up and transports rock, gravel, dirt, stone, sand blacktop and other materials and supplies.
- Dumps rock, gravel, dirt, stone, sand blacktop and other materials and supplies at job site and/or other designated location.
- Plows snow and ice, and dispenses road salt and/or other snow/ice treating materials.
- Drives and operates leaf collection truck.
- Performs manual labor as needed and/or requested.
