About The Position
Truck Driver CLASSIFICATION PURPOSE This non-exempt job classification is responsible for transporting company materials, equipment, and/or staff to the areas where they are required in a safe, timely, and cost-efficient manner; perform related work as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Drive company vehicles safely, ensuring compliance with traffic and safety regulations Transport staff, materials, and equipment to designated locations Perform routine vehicle checks and basic maintenance (e.g., oil, fuel, cleanliness) Load and unload company materials as required Maintain detailed driving logs, records, receipts, and paperwork Use navigation tools and local knowledge to plan efficient routes Keep vehicles clean inside and out; report mechanical or electrical issues promptly Follow inclement weather safety practices and drive with caution in various conditions Communicate respectfully with colleagues, vendors, and worksite partners QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: Minimum of 2 years' professional experience with equipment and driving truck. License: Valid Class A Driver’s License required and must be maintained throughout employment Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required COMPETENCIES Safety, Results Oriented, Driving, Time Management, Patience, Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills. License: A valid class A driver’s license, which must be maintained throughout employment in this job classification, is required at the time of appointment. Certifications: No certifications are required of this job classification. Language: While not required, basic bilingual English and Spanish skills are preferred for this classification. Working Conditions: Work is predominately outdoors in a moving vehicle, exposed to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and noise levels; exposure to dust, pesticides, herbicides, grease, oils, dust, fumes, and electrical currents. Background Investigation: Incumbents must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Prior to appointment, candidates may be subject to a background investigation and/or drug test. Introductory Period: Incumbents appointed to this job classification serve an introductory period of three months. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS The Key Performance Indicators for this position will be specified at the time of appointment.
Requirements
