2nd Shift Haul Truck Driver Position - Operates straight rubber-tired dump truck with dump body. Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals and turns steering wheel or steering mechanism to operate haul unit. Drives haul unit to work sites and moves levers, turns cranks to raise, tilt and lower dump body to load or dump materials. Transports loose materials such as sand, gravel, stone, waste materials, etc., from the pit extraction or various plant sites to storage or processing areas and dumps materials to load trucks, rail cars and to feed hoppers, conveyors, chutes, etc. Moves hand and foot controls to jerk truck forward or backward to loosen and dump material adhering to dump body. May load truck by operating a mechanical loader. Works overtime and rotating shifts as required. Performs routine maintenance on haul unit such as lubricating, fueling and cleaning. Replaces or assists other workers as needed. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervision.
