Drive truck with capacity of 2 ½ ton, or pickup truck, to transport parts or materials to and from specified destinations. Drive truck to destination; assist in loading and unloading truck; check paperwork for appropriate identification of materials, weights, quantities, signatures and the like. Maintain truck or, according to company policy or state and federal regulations when applicable. Maintain telephone contact with supervisor for changes in schedules or delivery instructions. Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Change flat tires and telephone supervisor for emergency roadside repairs. Position blocks and tie downs around items to secure cargo during transit. Work in shipping & receiving when trucking requirements moderate from higher peak periods. Wash and wax trucks; vacuum and clean interiors. Operate forklift or hand truck for loading / unloading trucks, and to transfer shipments from shipping and receiving to storage or work areas. Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor. Must have a clean driving record. Must have a good attendance record. No safety issues in the last 5 years. Observe all safety & health rules prescribed by the company, wear safety equipment as required.
