About The Position

The position involves driving a truck with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations. The driver will perform various duties including maintaining logs, preparing receipts, and ensuring the truck is in good working condition. The job requires regular communication with supervisors for delivery instructions and may involve loading and unloading cargo.

Requirements

• Current Class 'A' driver's license.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.

Responsibilities

• Drives truck to destination, which may include flat bed, stake bed, or closed box trailers.
• Prepares receipts for loads picked up.
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone contact with supervisor or lead to receive delivery instructions.
• Loads and unloads truck.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
• Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
• Other duties may be assigned.
