About The Position

The position involves operating a tractor trailer to safely move finished goods and raw materials to, from, and between various locations including loading docks, delivery vehicles, storage areas, and production areas. This may be done manually or with the use of equipment such as hand trucks, tractors, or forklifts. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and efficient management of routes and routines.

Responsibilities

• Safely move finished goods and raw materials using a tractor trailer.
• Perform lineside delivery and pick up of raw materials and/or finished goods.
• Follow written or oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties.
• Sort cargo during loading or unloading and mark containers with identifying information.
• Document all moves and complete SAP transactions as required.
• Utilize protective devices to prevent damage during transport.
• Use assistive devices to lift and guide cargo.
• Operate machinery such as booms, cameras, cranes, and forklifts.
• Assist with inventory control by performing cycle counts.
• Adhere to all company and facility specific safety rules.
• Assist with 5s efforts and ongoing lean projects.
• Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
• Manage routes and routines for efficiency.
• Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel.
• Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in interactions with vendors, clients, and the public.
• Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle and report any problems or damage.
• Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
