About The Position

The Truck Driver/Operator will be responsible for hauling scrap from the Port to Scrap Lines for off-loading to Scrap Piles and from Scrap Lines for off-loading to Scrap Bays. This position requires driving 60-ton trucks and accurately recording weights of the scrap being transported.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience required.
• GED or equivalent education required.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must meet and maintain certification for use of respiratory protective equipment as required by OSHA 1910.134.
• Demonstrated aptitude to execute customer orders and maintain service standards.
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Ability to work on and around barges and water.
• Must be available to work all shifts and weekends including 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Haul scrap from Port to Scrap Lines for off-loading to Scrap Piles.
• Haul scrap from Scrap Lines for off-loading to Scrap Bays.
• Inspect assigned truck for damage or problems at the beginning of the shift.
• Measure to get a tare weight at the beginning of the shift.
• Drive 60-ton trucks from the Port to Scrap Lines.
• Accurately record weight from payload meter for scrap hauled to lines.
• Drive trucks over scales and record accurate load weights for scrap hauled to the Scrap Line.
• Execute customer orders and maintain service standards.
