Truck Driver, Medium (CIF)
About The Position
AFO is looking for a Truck Driver, Medium to work in Colorado Springs, CO. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! Responsible for the safe operation of medium commercial vehicle to transport Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment (OCIE), supplies, and warehouse materials in support of Central Issuing Facility operations. Ensures timely delivery, accountability, and proper handling of government property while supporting warehouse logistics, inventory control, and distribution operations. Daily use of forklift both electric and propane, as well as manual and electric pallets jacks to move equipment. This driver may also load or unload truck with or without helpers and keep truck in good working order. Driver operates straight, box, and flatbed trucks 1 ½ to 4 tons inclusive, usually 6 wheels and sedan vehicles.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent. Must be knowledgeable of local and Fort Carson Driving laws and safety rules.
- Must have 2 years’ experience and must have or be able to obtain a forklift license.
- Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver's License prior to start date or by 30 days after employment.
- Must be US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) to obtain a CAC.
- Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.
Responsibilities
- Operate medium-duty trucks and material handling Equipment to transport OCIE, equipment, and supplies between the Central Issuing Facility, Warehouse and Maintenance.
- Conduct pre-operation, during-operation, and post-operation inspections of assigned vehicles and any Material handling Equipment in accordance with unit maintenance and safety procedures.
- Load, secure, and unload equipment and supplies using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment to prevent injury, damage or loss.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and locations surveys of OCIE and warehouse stock when not performing driving duties.
- Support warehouse operations including inventory movement, palletizing equipment, and staging items for issue or turn-in.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
- Responsible for dispatching all sectional Material handling Equipment (MHE) vehicles/equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
