Drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise and equipment between various types of establishments such as work sites, corporate offices, vendors and warehouses. Drives a bus or van to transport personnel. Will also load and/or unload truck with or without helpers. Performs daily operational and fluid checks to keep trucks in good working condition. Will also perform non-driving tasks such as furniture movements and event set-ups as required by the customer. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, with or without assistance. This position has been designated for Mission Critical Work. If called or re-called to work during times when Mission Critical Work must be performed, employee must respond to duties assigned. Work hours are subject to change with weekend work or overtime work as needed. Pay Rate: $30.13/Hr

Requirements

  • US Citizen.
  • Requires a minimum Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an acceptable driving record, on hire and must maintain valid class “B” CDL with an acceptable driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Required to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Previous medium truck driving experience.
  • If employee does not have current Hazmat, Tanker and Passenger Bus endorsements, must obtain within 90 days of hire or as issuing agency schedule allows.
  • Familiar with safe freight/cargo securing procedures in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

  • Work experience supporting a military base or civilian installation.
  • Familiarity with maintenance and/or construction activities.
  • Hazardous Materials endorsement.
  • Tanker Vehicle endorsement.
  • Passenger Bus endorsement.
  • Previous hazardous materials handling experience.
  • Ability to operate forklifts.
  • Vehicle recovery experience.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to NJ, DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act regulations. Must comply with DOT Medical Card reporting requirements.
  • Pumping fuel into heating oil tanks and other diesel equipment, as required.
  • Operates medium truck in support of other tasks when assigned.
  • Transports furniture, equipment and other materials as needed.
  • Performs facility set-ups and breakdowns as needed.
  • Performs daily operational and fluid checks before, during and after operation.
  • Completes all administrative (for example: work order documentation and timesheet documentation) requirements at the end of each workday or work shift.
  • Manages time effectively and notifies supervisor when problems arise.
  • Maintains and operates company vehicles and/or tools and equipment in compliance with company policy.
  • Supports the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of Safety, including training, safety protective equipment and clothing and adhering to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Timely, accurate, cost-effective performance of duties.
  • Compliance with contract requirements and CII policies and procedures, including Rules of Conduct.
  • Working closely and harmoniously with other employees.
  • Adherence to all safety and health rules and regulations.
  • Prudent management of Government Furnished Property (GFP) assigned to and under employee’s jurisdiction.
