About The Position

This position involves performing routine driving, inspection of transported goods, and material handling duties for retail operations under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager RI. The warehouse typically operates seven days per week to support the Agency retail operation, and may require working on weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and write English and comprehend work orders.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Ability to operate tow motor and hand truck.

Responsibilities

  • Drive truck with gross vehicle weight under 26,001 lbs. to transport materials and goods.
  • Operate mobile phone (not while driving) and maintain communication with Warehouse Coordinator.
  • Verify truckloads against shipping memos and packing lists.
  • Pad, stack, and secure transportable goods to prevent damage.
  • Load and unload goods, possibly with assistance.
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections of the truck.
  • Report vehicle status or mechanical problems to Warehouse Coordinator.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs and minor maintenance on the truck.
  • Dispose of waste materials in and around job sites.
  • Follow verbal instructions or read work orders to determine materials to be moved.
  • Assist in preparation of shipping documentation.
  • Lift heavy objects by hand and maintain a clean work area.
  • Operate baler equipment and notify supervisor of equipment problems.
  • Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and other locations as necessary.
