About The Position

Responsible for direct store and warehouse deliveries and pickup of products from customers and vendors. Loads frozen and refrigerated product for daily deliveries. Maintains company vehicles in clean, safe working order while following all DOT rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 months related delivery experience
  • Class “A” CDL license.
  • Forklift, reach truck, electric and manual jack certifications.
  • DOT Medical Card (provided by employer).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be in good physical shape with high stamina and dexterity.
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and turn neck easily.
  • Able to stand or sit for long periods.
  • Requires good depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to work in extreme hot and cold weather conditions.
  • Able to work long hours and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of driving experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver, pick up, and relocate products and materials as directed.
  • Operate Class “A” vehicles over 4 tons and Class “B” vehicles over 26,001 lbs. as needed.
  • Operate van vehicles as required.
  • Obtain bills of lading, secure necessary signatures, and return completed paperwork to the shipping office.
  • Collect and reconcile customer payments as needed.
  • Assist store receivers and scan products when required.
  • Load frozen/dairy products each morning before delivery.
  • Make overnight runs and deliveries when required.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Pick up products from vendors and perform intercompany transfers as needed.
  • Perform DOT daily maintenance and safety checks of trucks.
  • Clean and maintain tractors and trailers daily.
  • Keep trailers swept and clean at all times.
  • Maintain and inspect warehouse equipment.
  • Report vehicle mileage weekly to the Transportation Manager.
  • Report equipment issues immediately.
  • Protect and maintain all entrusted property in excellent condition.
  • Be educated and knowledgeable in safety rules and regulations.
  • Promote and practice safety 100% of the time.
  • Operate equipment in compliance with OSHA and DOT safety standards.
  • Follow all traffic regulations and speed limits.
