About The Position

The Barn Cleanout Truck Driver position at Hormel Foods involves driving and operational duties primarily focused on cleaning company and contract turkey barns. The role requires loading, hauling, and spreading turkey manure as directed by supervisors, along with performing service and maintenance on trucks and equipment. The position may require variable start and finish times and involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Proof of Class A or B CDL license and able to meet JOTS driving qualifications
  • One year driving experience or a certificate of completion
  • Ability to lift 40 - 50 pounds occasionally
  • Able to work independently with limited guidance
  • Ability to work in upper Midwest outdoor environment year-round
  • Ability to withstand below zero temperatures daily
  • Ability to withstand hot/humid temperatures daily
  • Able to read and write English

Responsibilities

  • Help crew clean company and contract turkey barns
  • Load, haul and/or spread turkey manure in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform service/maintenance on trucks, bobcats, floor sweepers, and floor blowers
  • Record manure spread piled or recycled accurately and legibly
  • Read and understand plant maps and aerial maps for field locations
  • Operate bobcat/skid loader for litter recycling procedures
  • Follow all company bio-security policies and procedures
  • Wear proper PPE at all times
  • Adhere to company safety rules and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with others
