About The Position

Operates a straight flatbed truck, within established safety guidelines and policies, to transport product to and from specific locations.
Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of steel products to customers.
Represents Samuel, Son & Co. professionally with all customers.
Mains vehicle by conducting operator inspections, reporting vehicle problems, and delivering vehicle for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs.
Prepares and maintains logs and records in accordance with D.O.T. regulations and company procedures.
Always maintain a clean truck/cab.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the handling of hazardous materials, if applicable.

Requirements

• A valid Class “C” commercial driver license.
• Proof of valid medical card required.
• Ability to verify product to ensure conformance with shipping documents.
• Ability to understand Samuel shipping documentation and assist customers in understanding.
• Good organizational skills with ability to plan and execute daily delivery route.
• Good communication skills with operations team members, sales staff and customers.
• Knowledge of all FMCSA and applicable State DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Able to pass pre-employment DOT physical and background check.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional attitude.
• Acceptable MVR Report Abstracts. No more than 2 moving violations within the past 36 months.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year flatbed and steel experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in Load Securement (strapping, chaining, tarping) an asset
• Proficient in the operation of Class “C” commercial driver license.
