About The Position
Position Summary: Under general supervision, operate company trucks to deliver our products to customers. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title: Operate company trucks on public roads to transport, load and unload material to EMS customers Operate vehicle in compliance with all local, state, federal and company rules and in accordance with generally accepted practices of safe driving Complete a driver's logbook and vehicle inspection report according to DOT regulations Inspect vehicle and required equipment to determine safe operating conditions prior to departure Review shipping papers for nature of load and special handling requirements if any Check load to determine if it's properly secured and safe Backup truck to loading platform; turn narrow corners; negotiate narrow passageways; keep truck and trailer under control particularly on wet or icy highways Wear safety equipment when handling material Safely load and unload cargo as required Maintain the truck in a clean and safe manner Keep tarp clean, neat, folded, and secured on trailer Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Requirements
- Class "A" CDL driver's license
- No more than one major traffic violation within the past 5 years
- Lift and carry heavy material up to 75 lbs.
- Climb on and off a flatbed trailer
Nice To Haves
- Preferably 3 years of experience driving a 53ft tractor trailer
Responsibilities
