About The Position

Transport materials and mail between Data-Mail Facilities and designated vendors

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus 1-2 years’ experience in operating multiple style forklift.
• CDL Class A license is required w/ at least 1 year on the job experience
• Operation of both Standard and Automatic transmissions a must
• Knowledge of State Of Ct DOT Regulations
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Computer Experience w/ barcoding
• Good/clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Drive Class A and B vehicles, Company Vans and pick ups, Standard and Automated Transmission, operating up to & including 53’ dry vans
• Load and unload materials/mail using fork truck and electric ride on hand trucks.
• Keep accurate driving log records: manually and electronic logs
• Maintain effective communication with Supervisors regarding loads at both facilities.
• Serve as yard jockey in multiple Newington and Windsor Plants
• Processing, scanning and securing materials for each load in safe and efficient manner. Ability to process materials for inventory use and locate materials in rack warehouse system, using barcode functionality.
• Keep work areas neat and clean, including all company vehicles.
• Comply with company rules and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
• Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
• Keep manager/supervisor informed of situations that will affect the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
• Flexibility to perform various warehouse related duties, as required, to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.
