About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Yard Truck Driver in Madison, AL, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career. The position pays an hourly rate of $26.26, with additional bonuses including a $2000 shutdown bonus paid in two installments and a safety bonus of up to $250 per quarter. Drivers are expected to work 50+ hours per week, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays, starting at 6:00 PM. The role involves solo deliveries within Alabama, with routes that allow drivers to be home daily. The job requires operating Day Cab tractors and Dry Van 53’ trailers with swing doors and Yard Mules for no-touch auto parts freight. Strong backing skills are required. Ryder provides company-paid scale bypass, trucks that are 36 months or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and company drivers can fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide. Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Strong Backing Skills Required

Responsibilities

safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads
compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service
Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
Maintaining accurate records and logs
Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records
Other tasks as assigned
