About The Position

Ryder is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver for an Over-The-Road (OTR) position based in Nashville, TN. This role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a stable driving career. Drivers typically average $1900+ per week, with the top 10% earning over $100,000 annually. The position involves solo deliveries to states including Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Drivers will operate Day Cab and Sleeper tractors, with the possibility of a 26' Straight Truck, and handle various trailer types such as 48' - 53' Flatbed, Dry Van, Reefer, Conestoga, Curtainside, and Container. The freight is a mix of touch and no-touch, with product variations, and requires experience in load securement including strapping, tarping, and chaining. Trucks are three years old or newer, and Ryder provides 24/7 roadside maintenance. The company also offers support for individuals considering becoming a Company Driver, including purchasing their truck.

Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
1 year flatbed required
Hazmat, Tanker & Doubles/Triples Endorsements required
Load Securement – Strapping, Tarping and Chaining experience Required

Responsibilities

Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
Maintaining accurate records and logs
Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
Performs other duties as assigned

Weekly Pay
Hourly Pay: $26.00 Per Hour Base Pay Plus Additional $1 for Every 3 Certifications/Endorsements
Overtime Paid After 40 Hours
Per Diem Pay: $50.00 per night
Overnights for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel or Sleeper

Tenure Bonus: Pays You $1000 each year you are with the company from Nov. 1- to Oct. 31
