About The Position

The Truancy Mediation Director at Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove is responsible for coordinating targeted programming aimed at addressing chronic absenteeism and truancy among youth and families. This role involves overseeing case management services, treatment planning, and educational opportunities, while collaborating with various stakeholders to implement restorative practices that mitigate truancy issues throughout Orange County.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field; MSW preferred.
  • 2 years post-baccalaureate experience in social services, health care, or related field; experience working with families and youth preferred.
  • Experience in case management and knowledge of case management philosophy and function.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with public speaking abilities.
  • Project management skills and the ability to provide training.
  • Valid CA driver license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee the administration of the program and activities that support the mission.
  • Establish objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission.
  • Oversee the provision of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.
  • Cultivate and establish partner relationships with BGCGG programs, families, and community partners.
  • Establish and maintain program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of staff and youth.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment and that all facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers and provide leadership and guidance.
  • Ensure staff/volunteers are provided with clear expectations, sufficient training, and guidance.
  • Provide clear and effective staff/volunteer evaluations within BGCGG established timelines.
  • Participate in the implementation and monitoring of the annual budget and ensure programs operate within established guidelines.
  • Conduct monthly audits of finances, client management software, client files, intakes, case notes, and staff hours.
  • Oversee proper record keeping and reporting, including documentation of expenses and program outcomes.
  • Increase community awareness of Truancy Mediation and other Community Impact Programs through outreach presentations.
  • Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, and BGCGG partners.
  • Preserve confidentiality of all client, staff, volunteer, and agency information.
  • Work with diverse populations in a culturally competent manner and maintain healthy boundaries.
  • Utilize strong organizational skills with attention to detail and manage demanding workload and schedule.
