About The Position

Under general supervision, Trip Leaders will be responsible in guiding participants through Titan Outdoors expeditions and instructional clinics, ensuring a safe, engaging, and educational experience. This role also includes handling trip-related paperwork, gear management, and addressing participant inquiries. Trip Leaders will be expected to demonstrate maturity, good judgment, and an unwavering commitment to upholding Titan Outdoors policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing
  • Must complete: Bloodborne Pathogens Campus Health and Safety Requirements CSU’S Discrimination Harassment Prevention Program Data Security and FERPA Gender Equity and Title IX Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) Wilderness First Aid/CPR/AED CA Mandated Reporter within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to lift, lower, push and pull loads ranging in weight from 5-80 lbs
  • Must be able to carry loads ranging from 5-35 lbs for distances up to 20ft

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all trip responsibilities while leading participants through Titan Outdoors expeditions and instructional clinics
  • Have appropriate experience in the activity areas and be capable of leading and teaching in those skills
  • Oversee the safety and welfare of participants
  • Provide a positive and high quality experience
  • Demonstrate maturity and good judgement
  • Assist with trip and clinic logistics, planning and implementation
  • Attend trip leader trainings, workshops and meetings
  • Be responsible for all trip paperwork, gear checkout, and answering participant questions and concerns
  • Conduct pre-activity meeting
  • Know and enforce all policies and procedures
  • Participate in all in-service training sessions and mandatory meetings
  • Operate cash register and credit card machine for rentals and resale
  • Clean and maintain program and rental equipment
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. and University departments
  • Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.
  • Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately
