The Trimmer plays a key role in bringing our furniture designs to life. This position is responsible for precisely placing and attaching trim fabric to frames in accordance with brand standards and custom specifications. Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience as an upholsterer.
  • Ability to perform skilled tasks with occasional problem solving to resolve issues.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage many responsibilities and projects at one time.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders.
  • Ability to interact individually with users and work cross-functionally throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Attaches binding, braids, skirts or other trimming materials or fabrics to upholstered frames.
  • Attaches bindings or apply solutions to edges of cut material to prevent raveling.
  • Attaches fasteners, grommets, buttons, buckles, ornamental trim, and other accessories to covers or frames, using hand tools.
  • Examines furniture frames, upholstery to locate defects.
  • Fits, installs, and secures material on frames, using hand tools, power tools, glue, cement, and/or staples.
  • Makes custom upholstered furniture, using hand tools and knowledge of fabrics and upholstery methods.
  • Reads work orders and apply knowledge and experience with materials in order to determine types and amounts of materials required to cover workpieces. 8. Other duties as assigned.
