About The Position

AMTRACO is a global holding company headquartered in Franksville, WI, that manages the shared services of Marketing, HR, IT, and Finance for its operating units, which include EPSI, STM, FAST, and SBM. The Trimmer role involves operating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures. This position also requires applying coatings to racks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-5 years experience operating machine shop equipment.
  • Basic knowledge in math and decimal places.
  • Knowledge in usage of gages, calipers, measuring tools, and clean sharp edges.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet production quotas.

Responsibilities

  • Operates fabrication shop and machine shop machinery and equipment.
  • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
  • Observes machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction.
  • Measures parts dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from parts.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Verifies conformance of finished part to specifications.
  • Follow company safety procedures and embrace culture of safety within the machine shop.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
