About The Position

The Pino Tree Service Tree Trimmer/Climber is responsible for performing tree trimming and vegetation management near power lines and utility structures under the direction of an experienced tree crew foreperson. Individuals in this role must have a solid foundation in tree trimming techniques and ground operations. The Tree Trimmer/Climber will carry out trimming tasks and other duties under the direction of a foreperson, including jobsite setup, brush chipping, and jobsite teardown.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of actual tree trimming experience with a strong understanding of ground operations for utility line clearance.
  • Prior experience working around power lines and utility structures is required.
  • Strong knowledge of tree trimming techniques and safety practices.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various tree trimming tools and equipment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions if required by the job.
  • Must have the ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, including twisting, bending, climbing, and stooping.
  • Must possess fine motor skills and dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel if required by the job.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tree trimming and vegetation management near power lines, following safety standards and project specifications.
  • Execute tasks related to ground operations, including site preparation, debris management, and cleanup, as directed by the foreman.
  • Apply knowledge of tree trimming techniques to support effective and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, reflective vests, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
  • Follow industry regulations and company policies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the foreman and assist in addressing potential hazards.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as chainsaws, pole saws, and chippers, under the guidance of the foreman.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment as needed.
  • Work effectively as part of the crew to support overall trimming operations.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and follow instructions from the foreman.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
