About The Position

The Tribal Social Worker Assistant (SWA), primary job will be assisting Tribal Social Workers, in day to day operations of the Social Service Department.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must have one (1) year experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance.
  • Must provide or obtain the Servsafe Food Alcohol Permit hire and maintain during employment.
  • Must provide or obtain CPR & First Aide certification within three (3) months of hire.
  • Must have valid Mandated Reporter Training Certification or within three (3) months of hire.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
  • Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
  • Must accept confidentiality as a strict condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation
  • Creating calendars.
  • Assisting in planning and implementing events.
  • Distribution of food and activities for families and elders.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide intakes and application assistance for clients of social services.
  • Data entry for program requirements.
  • Assisting with processing all Social Services Benefits.
  • Data entry processing Social Services up to including Case Management and Multiple Platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned.
