About The Position

The Tribal Credit Department Head is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Tribal Credit Office in Pablo, MT. This role involves providing leadership to the Credit Department staff, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, managing the annual budget, and fostering community relations. The position requires strategic planning and collaboration with the Tribal Credit Committee to enhance lending programs and customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful supervisory experience.
  • Five (5) years of successful experience in an administrative position interpreting regulations and implementing policies.
  • Knowledge of basic management functions such as personnel and financial management.
  • Exposure to and/or direct experience with lending practices and loan-making principles.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute all phases of a loan package.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and perform under stressful situations.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

  • Experience with community development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Tribal Resolution 06-48 regarding Code of Conduct for Tribal employees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership and guidance to the Credit Department staff.
  • Coordinate departmental activities in alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate all activities and operations to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, striving to achieve growth targets.
  • Maintain oversight of banking and financial accounts, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Prepare financial reports and ensure accurate accounting of financial activities.
  • Monitor the loan portfolio's quality and profitability, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Participate in required audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes impacting the Tribal Credit Program.
  • Organize strategic planning activities and ensure effective execution of strategic priorities.
  • Retain key team members and minimize turnover through effective leadership and employee engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Committee members to facilitate decision-making processes related to loans.
  • Engage with customers and prospects to foster loan growth and enhance customer relationships.
  • Oversee community development initiatives and the credit department's involvement in community activities.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $48.25 to $55.46 per hour including benefits.
  • Mandatory six (6) month probationary period for new hires.
