As a Triage Nurse at Boulder Valley Center for Dermatology, LLC, you will play a pivotal role in supporting patient care through clinical triage and coordination. You will serve as a primary point of contact for patients calling or messaging with questions, concerns, medication requests, pathology results, and post-procedure needs. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-based environment.

Requirements

  • Active Colorado LPN license preferred. We will also consider candidates with other relevant clinical licensure or equivalent experience (such as LVN, RN, or experienced clinical medical professional with strong triage background).
  • Work five 8-hour shifts per week, Monday - Friday
  • To excel in this role, candidates should possess strong clinical assessment skills and prior experience in a patient-facing medical setting.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential for effectively interacting with patients and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for accurately documenting patient encounters and clearly conveying clinical information.
  • Your ability to remain organized, attentive, and calm in a fast-paced environment will support our customer-centric approach and commitment to excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Dermatology or outpatient triage experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Triaging patient phone calls and electronic messages, assessing urgency, and determining appropriate next steps in collaboration with providers
  • Reviewing and relaying pathology and lab results to patients per provider direction
  • Providing patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and post-procedure care
  • Coordinating and scheduling follow-up appointments and procedures based on provider recommendations
  • Managing prescription refill requests and assisting with prior authorizations
  • Documenting all patient interactions accurately and thoroughly in the EMR
  • Collaborating closely with physicians, physician assistants, medical assistants, and front office staff to ensure seamless patient care
