About The Position
In Virginia Tech's Division of Student Affairs, we're guiding, nurturing, and supporting students as they learn and grow into the leaders and world-changers of today and tomorrow. We're currently searching for a Triage Counselor to join our Cook Counseling Center team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. If you're passionate about student mental health and center-wide operations, please keep reading. You'll be joining the Cook Counseling Center team; a department centered on promoting student learning, development, retention, and holistic wellbeing by providing resources for improving mental health and identifying psychological barriers to academic success. You'll be reporting to the Associate Director of Crisis and Triage Services, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment. You'll be responsible for providing direct clinical services to undergraduate and graduate students focused on their initial consultation and assessment, co-creating goals for services, and providing connection to services or referrals, and crisis intervention as needed. You'll provide additional services including initial consultation and assessment, individual and group counseling, psychiatric referrals, and consultation with faculty, advisors, and staff regarding student mental health concerns. You'll work with a multidisciplinary staff of counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, nurse practitioners, psychology interns, psychiatry residents, and practicum students to deliver services that maintain the highest standards of professional and ethical care. You'll be offered a base compensation package between $63,000 - $86,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!
