About The Position

Reporting to and under general supervision of the Landscaping Manager with additional lead work direction provided from other members of the Facilities Management team, the Tree Trimmer II performs a variety of arboreal duties in support of the Landscaping Department. The incumbent maintains and trims trees of various heights to promote their health and appearance.

Requirements

This position requires two years of general experience in the care and maintenance of landscaped areas or general grounds, with one year in tree trimming and tree maintenance work which has provided a working knowledge of aerial equipment and safety practices and the necessary skills for climbing and high-altitude tree trimming.
The incumbent must successfully complete a pre-placement exam and possess and/or obtain and thereafter maintain a California Driver’s License valid for the operation of any vehicle or equipment required to maintain and operate.
Beginning proficiency with computers is required.

Nice To Haves

Possession of California Department of Pesticide Regulation’s Qualified Applicator’s License/Certification (QAL/QAC) preferred.
Bilingual abilities (Spanish) is preferred.
Knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office, computerized work control system, Smartsheet and PeopleSoft preferred.
