Tree Climber - Parks & Grounds
About The Position
The City of Bowie is seeking applicants for the position of Tree Climber in our Parks & Grounds Division. The ideal applicant will be responsible for tree maintenance for City Facilities, Parks, and Rights-of-Ways, owned or maintained by the City including pruning, removal, cabling, bracing, inspecting, planting of trees, watering, feeding, and transplanting of trees, and operating an aerial lift truck. Performs pruning in accordance with American National Standard A300 (ANSI) and National Arborist Standards. Ability to maintain good working relationship with fellow employees, supervisors, and the general public. Internal candidates are encourage to apply.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent GED
- Valid CDL Operator’s License
- Three (3) years of experience in the tree care industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Perform heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and crawling; walking and standing for prolonged periods of time; and operating motorized equipment and vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions.
