About The Position
As a Tree Care Crew Member at Davey Tree Expert Company, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas. This position requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and involves a variety of tasks related to tree pruning and removal services. You will assist climbers, foremen, and other crew members in performing essential duties that include trimming and removing trees, as well as addressing unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs. Your work will contribute to the overall health of the trees and the safety of the environment around them. In this role, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully. This includes pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy, as well as installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems. You will also be tasked with the removal of hazardous trees and will need to properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. Being part of the most progressive greenspace stewardship team in the industry, you will have the opportunity to work outdoors and enjoy a new view every day. The position requires a love for the outdoors and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. You will need to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program, as well as First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire. Preferred qualifications include relevant pesticide licenses and certifications, as well as ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional certifications.
