The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Treatment Plant Operator I to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Utilities- Surface Water division. The Treatment Plant Operator I in Surface Water earns a competitive hourly salary of $21.83-$23.63/based on experience and qualifications. There is also certification pay for licenses higher than required for the position. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THE TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR I - Surface Water Under general supervision of a SWTP Operator II, this position is responsible for daily inspection, operation, and monitoring of the raw water intake, coagulant feed systems, rapid mix, flocculation, sedimentation, sludge system, filtration and disinfection processes. Performs technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility including routine preventative maintenance of all equipment. Maintains plant grounds and buildings including cleaning plant process areas. A SWTP Operator I may reasonably expect to progress to SWTP Operator II with training, experience, and continued demonstration of satisfactory job performance.
