About The Position

The Treatment Nurse is responsible for providing direct resident care with a focus on skin care, wound care, and treatment services in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as directed by the Director of Nursing to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained.

Requirements

  • Current LVN license in good standing
  • Experience in skilled nursing or wound care preferred
  • Knowledge of skin care and treatment protocols preferred
  • Current LVN license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Knowledge of treatment and wound care practices
  • Strong documentation and assessment skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, residents, and families
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
  • Must be able to use appropriate personal protective equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Wound care certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide treatment and skin care to residents as ordered by the physician
  • Identify, manage, and treat skin disorders including pressure ulcers, abrasions, infections, and other dermatologic conditions
  • Perform resident skin assessments and complete quarterly dermatologic evaluations
  • Ensure residents with pressure ulcers receive appropriate treatment and preventative care
  • Document treatments and resident progress accurately and timely
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the attending physician, Medical Director, or Director of Nursing regarding resident condition and care
  • Participate in care planning and work with the Interdisciplinary Team to develop comprehensive care plans
  • Assist with admissions and discharges as needed
  • Provide direct nursing care in emergencies and assist in maintaining resident comfort and safety
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident information and report any suspected violations
  • Report occupational exposures, incidents, complaints, or grievances according to facility policy
  • Monitor inventory of treatment supplies and skin care products
  • Participate in in-service training and continuing education programs
  • Maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, residents, and family members
  • Ensure infection control and safety procedures are followed at all times
