Treatment Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse/LPN)
About The Position
Life Care Center of Puyallup is a consistently 4 and 5 star rated facility in beautiful downtown Puyallup. We're looking for a nurse with great clinical skills and an outgoing disposition who wants to be a part of a strong clinical team in a lively sub-acute and long-term care environment! Hiring For: FT Day Shift- Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Position Summary The LPN Treatment Nurse provides primary skin care to patients under the medical direction and supervision of patients' attending physicians and registered nurse, as indicated, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Requirements
- Attended an accredited LPN program
- Currently licensed/registered in applicable State. Must maintain an active Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) license in good standing throughout employment.
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
- Advanced knowledge in field of practice
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
- Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
- Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
- Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
Nice To Haves
- Prior wound care experience preferred
- One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Knowledgeably and competently deliver quality nursing care to patients
- Identify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders and primary/secondary lesions
- Work with nursing team to educate CNAs as to proper positioning, training, and skin care
- Identify changes in patients' conditions and report changes to DON
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in the evacuation of patients
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
