About The Position

The Treatment Assistant works under general supervision to assist in fabricating age-specific devices for therapeutic radiation as ordered by a physician to assist in the treatment of cancer patients. This role involves performing various duties depending on the assigned area, providing services for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. The Treatment Assistant will assist the Radiation Therapist in setting up patients in treatment rooms and will be required to lift patient immobilization devices and beam shaping devices that can weigh up to 60 lbs. Additionally, the assistant will help keep room supplies stocked and ready for use, and perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Ability to read and write legibly in English; Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient in using computer and necessary software programs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic math skills and ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to recall information accurately.

Responsibilities
