About The Position

The Treatment Advocate/CPT position is a hybrid role that combines responsibilities as a Treatment Advocate and a Certified Phlebotomy Technician. The primary focus is to provide compassionate care to adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders, while also performing blood draws and ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role involves collaboration with the treatment team, transportation of clients, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution.
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred in Behavioral Sciences (social sciences, human services, counseling or psychology).
  • Valid Driver's License required with insurable driving record.
  • Completion of national exam to receive licensure as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT/PBT).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.

  • Experience in a healthcare or addiction treatment setting.
  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome new patients and assist with orientation of programming schedule and rules.
  • Conduct patient belongings search when new patients are admitted.
  • Complete safety rounds and security checks.
  • Participate in coordination of patient's daily schedule including treatment meetings and behavior interventions.
  • Provide support and encouragement to patients in group, individual, and family counseling services.
  • Support clinical and nursing services of patients as assigned.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and program staff meetings.
  • Ensure all documentation meets contract, licensure, accreditation, and standards for services in a timely manner.
  • Communicate efficiently with other departments to ensure the best care for patients.
  • Identify potentially harmful situations and report safety concerns to Clinical Manager and/or CEO.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and company information, abiding by HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 guidelines.
  • Assist in monitoring and managing patient community as a therapeutic milieu.
  • Intervene in crisis situations to deescalate and resolve crises.
  • Perform laboratory procedures according to lab policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform blood draws competently and efficiently, minimizing patient discomfort.
  • Maintain adequate supplies for phlebotomy procedures and alert supervisory staff for orders.
  • Document and report adverse events during the workday.
