About The Position

The Treating and Drying Operator is a vital role in our production process. This position involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining specialized equipment to treat and dry starch according to precise specifications. Your attention to detail, commitment to quality, and adherence to safety standards will be instrumental in ensuring the excellence of our products and the efficiency of our operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Must be able to pass testing on Math, Reading, and Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Must be able to pass a background check for education, work history, and criminal record.
  • Must be able to complete a physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and adjust mechanical equipment, including changing socks, filters, and belts; fixing leaks; replacing filter cloths; tightening loose bolts; and using small hand tools.
  • Perform field calibrations, adjust pH loops, and add oil or grease to a variety of equipment as needed.
  • Work outdoors for short periods of time, as required.
  • Conduct inspection routes on process equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Coordinate with other departments to maximize productivity.
  • Maintain a clean, food grade workspace.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations.
  • Utilize hand tools and some power tools for daily tasks and assist in maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, such as lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Collect and test product samples for attributes like moisture, pH, Ki, Baume, and titration levels.
  • Unload railcars containing salt or chemicals safely and efficiently.
  • Operate a forklift (certification will be provided by Ingredion).
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 55 lbs. as part of job duties.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent inventory counts.
  • Prepare railcars and trucks for unloading, this includes inspections of equipment and railcars.
  • Use fall protection equipment and work at heights, such as inspecting railcar lids on top of the vehicles.
  • Fill tanks with starch, transfer starch between multiple tanks, and work with coolers and heat exchangers.
  • Handle and transfer chemicals safely, following proper procedures.
  • Read and comprehend SOP, job aid, complete monthly computer-based training and job procedure reviews.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, hairnets, beard nets, safety glasses, and leather steel-toe boots.
