About The Position

Ryan Specialty is seeking a Corporate Finance & Treasury Intern for its corporate office in Chicago, IL. This ten-week program will offer an opportunity to learn more about treasury management, cash forecasting, debt and capital markets, and investing strategies. The internship will include group work, project-based assignments, and virtual and in-person trainings/sessions on a number of topics that are intended to help interns become exposed to the tremendous opportunities in the industry. This role will contribute to the Company’s success by supporting treasury management processes, developing and maintaining financial models and performance reports, and assisting the analysts and managers with ad hoc work as requested. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management & Insurance, or a related Business field.
  • Preferred graduation dates: December 2026, May 2027, December 2027, or May 2028
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with Bloomberg is a plus
  • Ability to commute to the Chicago office located downtown in the Loop
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple items at once
  • Ability to apply independent, critical thinking while also following instructions and implementing constructive feedback
  • Collaborative attitude with the ability to partner with internal and external constituents
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, high energy level, and positive orientation
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities (clubs, societies, student organizations, etc.)
  • Participation in finance-related projects or case studies during academic coursework

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes related to treasury operations and corporate finance
  • Support the analyst and managers with capital scenario modeling and related presentations
  • Support the team with weekly cash forecast modeling and presentations to upper management
  • Assist with updating and improving the 5-year financial model
  • Support the evaluation of various interest rate and foreign exchange hedging opportunities
  • Assist the team with enhancing financial reporting and processes, including the preparation of monthly budget variance reports, management presentations, and board materials
  • Participate in meetings with various large banking partners
  • Aid in the creation of detailed procedure manuals and process maps
  • Develop and implement new analysis tools within the team’s Treasury Management System (TMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Effectively work with and support internal business partners including FP&A, Controllership, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Legal, Tax, and IT
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks as assigned
