About The Position

The MSRB is seeking a full-time Finance Fellow to work with our Finance Unit. Exposure to this team will provide the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to gain valuable business skills relevant to the operations of a state-run agency with exposure to accounting, budgeting and financial transactions, as well as professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be currently pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in Business Administration or Finance
  • Must be proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask are required as the incumbent will be forced to prioritize workflow to meet deadline driven projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpersonal skills are required as the incumbent will interact with various Board personnel, at all levels, as well as external partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • As the incumbent is exposed to confidential financial results, the applicant should have a high degree of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Finance team through various bookkeeping activities, transactional support, and other cash management duties
  • Participate in efforts between internal units and external business partners for accounting related inquiries.
  • Assist the Finance team with preparations for the annual reporting cycle by generating reports, reconciling accounts and researching any discrepancies.

  • Fellows will also be encouraged to participate in Treasury wide DEI&B programming and initiatives.
