About The Position

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deployment Network Engineer to join a security and electronic systems business unit located in Springfield, VA through 100% full onsite presence. The Deployment Network Engineer will support Microsoft by deploying & configuring customer network systems, troubleshooting across cloud & on-prem environments, & collaborating with technical teams to meet strategic objectives.

Requirements

3-5+ of hands-on network engineering experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry background
Strong skills in configuring & troubleshooting network devices using CLI, applying patches, & making configuration changes
Deep understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols, with the ability to design efficient & resilient network topologies
Familiarity with cloud technologies like Azure Virtual Networks & ExpressRoute, & how they integrate with on-prem infrastructure
Knowledge of Layer 1 technologies, including cable types, media converters, & telecom circuits (CPE, Telco, Demarc)
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Willing to travel 1 week per month, domestically or internationally

Responsibilities

Configure, patch & troubleshoot network devices using CLI, while optimizing Layer 2 & 3 protocols for performance & resiliency
Support & integrate cloud networking technologies like Azure Visual Networks & ExpressRoute with traditional on-prem infrastructure
Perform hands-on installation & deployment of network systems, including cable management & media conversation
Create detailed network diagrams, rack elevations, & cable drawings to support infrastructure planning & maintenance
Implement & manage network security appliances & traffic control strategies across diverse environments
Work closely with Microsoft & customer teams to deliver technical presentations & align network solutions with strategic goals
