About The Position

The Traveling Switchgear Field Technician is responsible for the start-up commissioning, integration, emergency service, and troubleshooting of Vertiv electrical switchgear systems. This role requires strong technical skills in electrical and mechanical systems, as well as the ability to maintain excellent communication with customers and team members. The technician will work independently under general supervision and is expected to uphold Vertiv's core principles and strategic priorities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ASMET certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude is necessary.
• 2+ years of hands-on electronic experience or field services.
• Training in electrical theory and technologies is required.
• Familiarity with electrical/electronic test equipment and fundamentals.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical line diagrams and blueprints.
• Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 pounds.
• Standard computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• ASEET certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in start-up commissioning and integration of electrical switchgear systems.
• Provide emergency service and troubleshooting for electrical equipment.
• Establish and maintain rapport with customers and co-workers.
• Communicate effectively with National Technical Support regarding equipment issues.
• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks according to company guidelines.
• Implement Field Change Notices as per published guidelines.
• Stay updated on Safety Bulletins and Service Tips.
