If you love managing large, complex construction projects, mentoring others, and are passionate about safety, Southland has an opportunity for you as a Senior Project Manager. This position is responsible for managing a project team for a single large complex project or multiple smaller projects, including providing coaching and performance feedback. In addition, this role serves as the primary point of contact for the project. This role can be for a Traveling Senior PM who is able to be at the project site during the week and travel home on the weekend OR if you are ready to take on a new adventure, a relocation package is part of the deal for the right candidate.

  • Develop and implement strategies and plans to ensure your team meets or exceeds the project delivery contractually and financially.
  • Measure and report progress, and develop tactics to ensure the project stays on track.
  • Develop client relationships by providing project status updates to client and leadership.
  • Partner with management to develop and implement project strategies.
  • Manage budget reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, etc. for the project.
  • Participate in project meetings with internal departments to discuss project schedule and issues as needed.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure scope and direction of project is on schedule.
  • Delegate work and serve as mentor to project team, providing coaching and performance feedback as necessary.
  • Direct and motivate teams through all phases of multiple large-scale projects.
  • Mentor Project Managers and Project Engineers to prepare them for the next step in their profession.
  • Utilize the latest construction industry trends and pioneer new trends as they emerge.
  • Develop and nurture customer relationships beyond a single project.
  • Experience working on large and complex projects with process piping.
  • Extensive experience managing multiple HVAC construction projects.
  • Deep understanding of project financials and schedules.
  • Ability to track production and manage a large project from start to finish.
  • Expert knowledge of applicable systems design, such as HVAC, plumbing, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple larger complex projects.
  • Strong public speaking ability.
  • Ability to present proposals to clients.
  • Authentic leadership with integrity and interest in team development.
  • Accountability and initiative on projects.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management plus 15+ years of experience managing mid to large size MEP projects.
