As a Traveling Switchman with Road & Rail Services, no two days are the same. Most of your work is outdoors, moving railcars safely and efficiently in rail yards and industrial facilities. One day you might be coupling cars, throwing switches, or lining up trains for departure. The next, you might be troubleshooting equipment, replacing an air hose, or working with a crew to assemble a train to customer specifications. This is physical work in all kinds of weather-rain, heat, cold, and everything in between. You'll be riding railcars, climbing on and off equipment, and constantly moving to make sure freight keeps moving safely. When you're not traveling, you'll report to our base in Fairburn, GA, but most weeks you'll be on the road, working with different crews and learning new yards. If you take pride in working hard, staying safe, and being part of a team that keeps the railroad running, this could be the career move you've been waiting for.
