About The Position

SRM Concrete is seeking a skilled Traveling Plant Maintenance Technician to support our operations across our 24-state footprint. In this role, you will travel to various SRM Concrete plant locations throughout the week (Monday through Friday), with overnight stays required as you work at different sites. A daily per diem is provided to cover travel expenses. You’ll return home every weekend, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities: Travel to SRM Concrete plants across our 24-state footprint Monday through Friday, including overnight stays as needed, to conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems, identifying and addressing issues that could disrupt production. Perform preventative maintenance tasks at multiple sites according to a scheduled plan, minimizing unexpected breakdowns or operational delays. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues efficiently, ensuring minimal impact on plant operations. Utilize welding skills to fabricate, repair, or reinforce plant structures and equipment as needed. Collaborate with plant management at each location to prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and operational impact. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and time spent at each site. Stay current with the latest maintenance techniques and safety protocols to ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently. Coordinate with external contractors and specialists for complex repairs or installations requiring specific expertise. Support plant safety teams by identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions at each location. Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in maintenance, safety, and plant operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a maintenance role within an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment; concrete plant experience is highly desirable.
  • Technical proficiency in electrical systems, plumbing, and welding; relevant certifications or qualifications preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; able to perform complex repairs under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of a team across multiple locations.
  • Commitment to safety and thorough understanding of occupational health and safety regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or vocational degree is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate various types of plant machinery.
  • Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
  • Ability and willingness to travel Monday through Friday, including overnight stays, across our 24-state footprint; home on weekends.
